Fever Dream
Fever Dream delves into the intense impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the lockdowns that occurred, and the effect it had on individuals and on the collective. Through a blend of still and moving images, this project captures the emotions of connection, communication, and isolation during a time often overlooked – a fever dream of a forgotten time.
Fever Dream focuses specifically on November-December 2020 and the mania surrounding this time.
In this time period I was a isolated and alone as I had chosen to take a gap-year before the pandemic and all my friends had gone off to uni and I was still at home. Both my parents had caught COVID-19.
My project is about recognising and remembering this traumatic global event, and being kind to yourself – a lot has changed rapidly, and it was not that long ago that people were dying at excessive rates; now everything is back to normal, it can feel disorienting.
