Interactive media is fundamentally about communication. Students work at the intersection of ideas, information, design, and ever-evolving technology to meet the diverse needs of users.
User experience is central to everything. Understanding the audience, their needs, and how they interact are some of the most important and challenging aspects of designing and building these projects.
In the first and second years, students are introduced to various design and technical aspects through shorter projects. These enable them to acquire the skills needed to express their ideas and interests through design and content.
For their final year project, students have the freedom to research a topic they are passionate about, distil their findings into a concept, develop that idea into a prototype, and build it into a finished project.
These projects bring together all the visible elements – typography, words, images, interactivity, animation – with the unseen components – coding, scripting languages, digital skills, user interfaces – to bring that original idea to life.
