Ted’s work revolves around capturing cultures and spaces that are often without record, while simultaneously removing them from their surroundings, creating still lives in inherently unstill spaces.
By making an intervention in the space with a large format camera and then painstakingly printing them all by hand in the darkroom, he captures a unique perspective of these intriguing worlds inhabited by strange people in incredible detail, pointing out the oddities and uplifting them, while also showing his own inherent otherness, with the over-the-top lengths he has gone to create the final prints
