Towards The New World

Anxiety, stress, tension, overstimulation, and existential dread: all too familiar states of being that are synonymous with contemporary living in a modern city.

A personal sense of identity has come out of trying to aestheticise these feelings, which for me, has always originated in music that feeds off of a general discontent with the state of things around us. Looking at industrial music specifically, there is a crucial sense of jagged catharsis that helps me both understand and accept harsh realities.

Experimenting with the dated analogue process of solarisation in the darkroom produced unpredictable and gritty textures that visually embody this ineffable sonic catharsis.

This series is an effort to evoke a human vulnerability within these times of unrelenting progress and the haunting romanticism that exists amongst the bleaknes.
