Jamais Vu

While I was walking through the street in front of my flat, a man on a bicycle snatched my iPhone which was in my hand just a few seconds ago. After pickpocketing, I couldn’t feel at ease in front of my flat where I had walked around a thousand times. Due to that experience, I would like to express somewhere or something familiar becoming extraordinarily intense and unfamiliar, or even seeming like somewhere not on earth.

I intended my works to make people have ‘jamais vu’, the opposite of déjà vu, something feeling like first time although you actually know it well. All of my work was shot in the most famous parks in London, in the hope they evoke the feeling of having never been seen.
