Daisy, an intern at a London publishers, meets Tom, a writer, and they immediately fall in love due to their shared love of writing and conspiracy theories. It’s a whirlwind romance, until cracks start to appear. Cracks big enough to let poison seep in. Each chapter switches narrative, alternating between Daisy’s and Tom’s experience of their year long romance. We see extracts of Daisy’s poems, and snippets of Tom’s novels amidst their story but soon Daisy’s narrative voice starts to peter out. We are left with only her poems. Tom is left to finish the story, describing a toxic and violent relationship in which Daisy has become unhinged. But why does Daisy no longer have a narrative voice? And who is Alexa?
