“Because of this (Chinese family) culture, a great many homosexuals in China will marry a heterosexual, the percentage is set to be around 70%.” - Li Yinhe, Chinese sociologist.

Although it is the 21st century, when Chinese homosexuals “come out” to their parents, this can often cause the breakdown of family relation- ships, and around 30% of the community even commit suicide under the pressure.

Generally, through investigation and a number of interviews Closer to China LGBT Community focuses on the three main factors that cause Chinese homosexuals to face a serious challenge in China.
